Severn Group inspecting job siteSince 2002, The Severn Group has provided HVAC services throughout Maryland and the Washington Metro Area. We have worked with a wide range of clients with an emphasis on negotiated, team-construct, mechanical-general, design/build, and service repair/replacement projects. Our Joint Venture and Partnering Agreements enable us to meet contract participation requirements for 8(a), MDOT, WBE, Hub-zone, DC CBE, MWAA.

The Severn Group market mix includes both private sector and government construction projects. Our market segment includes healthcare facilities, data centers, offices, industrial spaces, retail space, restaurants, plant replacements and secure facilities.

Our service group/division provides preventative maintenance agreements, 24-hour emergency service, replacement contracts and aides our construction team during the start-up and commissioning of newly installed systems. The Severn Group is a union contractor. We are a signatory to Local 602 – Steamfitters, Local 486 combined Steamfitters/Plumbers, and Local 5 – Plumbers.

The Severn Group has strived to create a sustainable culture of safety. We are committed to practices and oversight that ensure our craftsmen remain accident and injury-free.

The Severn Group is proud of its construction safety loss prevention program. Our FY 2021 EMR (Experience Modification Rate) is 0.67. The Severn Group prides itself on the fact that we have a low accident and injury rate. We provide quality services to our customers and provide a high level of safety for all employees and subcontractors who work with our company. We are a safety-oriented company with a Zero Tolerance approach to safety management. Our management team, including our field superintendents and foreman, are all OSHA 30 certified. Our goal is a 100% injury and accident-free work environment.

Quality Comes With Safety

Our Safety Director routinely performs unannounced workplace safety audits. This is to assist our personnel in sustaining the safety culture that is critical to our success. Our Safety Committee is comprised of employees representing all of our trades and senior management. Regularly scheduled meetings assure that we stay abreast of current standards and discuss issues related to our specific trades and projects. All of our foremen and supervisors are OSHA-30 certified and we are committed to having all field personnel OSHA-10 certified. Our foreman and supervisors are also First Aid and CPR trained and they are re-certified on an annual basis.

The Severn Group believes in its obligation to provide a safe working environment for all employees. We believe that the use of illegal or unauthorized drugs or alcohol while at work will cause an employee to be a danger to themselves and others. To preserve the safety of all employees while at work, the Company has established a policy that includes drug testing to ensure compliance with our commitment to a safe work environment.
